Went in to get my new tattoo Saturday. It is going to cover up the Apple on my arm(it was too small and took up a nice large chunk of fleshy canvas). So I drew up a new tattoo a month or so ago that kind of sums up some simple things:
A. Live Life, a couple banners above and below the main design exclaim this loud and proud. It's a simple two word sentence that has a lot of power, at least for me. Sometimes I need to step back for a second and remember to Live my Life, to go out and have as much fun as possible and do anything that I want to do.
B. The main part of the tattoo has a decapitated bunny head with cross bones behind it. The Bunny is something that I draw a lot of. The fact that the head is decpitated and bloddy doesn't make him less cute. But at the same time it reminds me not to end up like him. Don't let yourself just sit around and rot when there is so much for you to get out and do. At the same time he reminds me of the fun that is out there, and how much fun it is for me to continue to do the art that I do.
So I took the initial drawing over to Rob Foster at Cactus Tattoo in Mankato for him to come up with his own take on the drawing and what he came up with was amazing. A bit more gruesome than my initial sketch but a very good interpretation into Tattoo art. After a nearly 4 hours sitting on Saturday we knocked of a good chunk of the work and this is how far we got:
