Well, I'm back. Two reasons: 1. One of Drave and Porphyria's pics came through my desktop wallpaper rotator and it made me wonder what she (Drave) was up to lately. Not that I'm not curious about Porphyria, but she and I never talked. 2. I actually have the money to spare since I've taken over my dad's business while he's in the hospital. Been makin' lots, actually, which is nice considering all the stuff I want and all the plans I've been wanting to act on.
Since I left here in May of last year, an on-again-off-again relationship of about a year and half finally ended, my dad was diagnosed with a pre-leukemic bone marrow disorder called myelodisplasia and is now in the hospital getting chemo and marrow transplantation. There's a pretty good chance it'll work and he'll make a full recovery, which is great 'cause life is hard to imagine without him. He's like one of my best friends, honestly. Anyway, because of the diagnosis, I was asked to move back from CA to my home state of Jersey to be a caregiver for him, so I packed up all my shit (and believe me, I have a LOT of shit) and drove it all across the country in a Budget truck towing my car behind me. Took about 6 days, and lemme tell ya, the states between California and Jersey are fuckin' weird sometimes.
So, I'm back. Seeing old friends turned out to be much more enjoyable than in previous years when I just pitied them. They just seemed to be prisoners in their lives. *shrugs* Probably just being melodramatic. Anyway, now that I'm back, I'll be starting my own audio production company with a focus on music, but with the capacity for film and video game work if I so choose. Using my dad's business as leverage definitely helps since live sound and studio sound utilize very similar gear.
My best friend Tiff has been living with us along with her dog Eva for the past few months. It's been nice. Eva gets on my nerves from time to time, but for the most part, she's pretty good. It's been great having Tiff around the house 'cause we almost always have fun whatever we do. We'll be collaborating on some music sometime soon (hopefully). March is always a hellish month for my dad's business, though. This week especially.
Oh, and I got glasses:
My vision isn't all that terrible. Something like 20/30 in one eye and 20/28 in the other or some shit. They definitely help, though. It's crazy to think how long I've gone without and to wonder what I might've seen had I gotten them sooner. Never had vision insurance before, though. Finally did thanks to my old job, Sonic Electronix out in CA. I figured since I was about to move, I might as well take advantage of the insurance I was about to lose. :-P
About that aforementioned relationship that ended, it really took a serious toll on my health, both mentally and physically. I even started smoking cigarettes 'cause of it. I don't really have any good excuse as to why, though I surmise it's probably due to all the time we spent smoking hookah. I still love me some hookah. It was like the peace pipe for us at the time. Anyway, I've got a long way to go to get back to where I was, but I'll get there. I did it before, I can do it again. By the time I do, I'll have lost the approximate weight of a full-grown man off myself.
So, let's see... What else is there? Well, Sunny's still gone, and it still hurts. I find reasons to smile and laugh every day, but now that I have the peace of silence again, my mind is free to wander off to those exceptionally dark, albeit familiar places. There's really not much good that can come out of all that, except the music I've been writing to go along with the spoken word album I made for her birthday back in '10. I want to re-release it as a more legitimate and original album. To be honest, even though this tremendously powerful and profoundly inspiring love in my life is now unable to grow any further, I still don't spend a lot of time wallowing in depression. I'm actually still a generally happy and humorous person, and I've retained my good nature in spite of so much horseshit that could easily have made me sway.
Aside from all that, my podcast is still goin' strong. Actually had 7 people like the last one, which made me feel like a fuckin' rock star. I had a lot of fun making it, and still have fun making all of 'em, or else I'd stop. If any of you reading this would like to check it out, here's all the info:

Haaaappy Monday, my dearest motherfuckers out there in Motherfuckerland: The magical land of memes, cats, porn and cupcakes called the internet! Welcome to volume 2 of the Fuck Geography Edition of the only fucking podcast worth listening to in the surging stream of steaming, batshit content that the internet has become, Monday Morning Aural Sex!
