Hello Scott,
This is also Scott, Scott Harris an animator at the american museum of natural history. I got your information from Kevin Walker... I read through your description of the experimental art piece UCLA is doing and I think it's a wonderful idea. We too, have a great planetarium here at AMNH and have recently produce a music show "Sonic Vision" that also uses the dome as a canvis. It was a great success!
Most of my work is for the exhibits here, but I walk by the planetarium on the way to my office everyday, and I always think of all the amazing visuals that could be happening inside if we had a little more creative freedom to explore different idea.
I am very busy at the moment, but would love to talk to you further about this project and possibly contributing to it. It sounds very interesting. Please contact me if you'd like, I can show you a little bit of what we are doing around here as well.
