@XTINE you know, i watched the first two episodes of the first season and it just felt like they were throwing everything and the kitchen sink (overflowing with blood) at the screen and hoping something would stick, but i've been hearing such great things about the second and third seasons, i think it's time to go back.

OY! finally reached the world's end, and a fitting one it was. shaun's still my favorite, but this one definitely felt the most personal and i am a sucker for movies which comment on themselves and their makers without overtly leaving their own reality to do so (like addressing the audience--i still love ferris, but that was a long time ago). very curious to see where the lot go from here being that this one seems to be all about exorcising their reliance on their pop culture nostalgia (and their pop culture nostalgia has, thus far, been what they've been about). from her I'M going to whiskey, if you are curious.

FUCK YEAH! i'd like to tell you it's from britain, but in fact, it is australian. though it's definitely inspired by 1960s british spy shows as well as the oeuvre of gerry anderson (such as http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8CvURidpkCY ). it aired down there in 2012 and there's an australian dvd of it (which i proudly own), but if you don't have an all-region dvd player, you have to watch it on youtube (or from my semi-comfortable futon nyuck nyuck). i think it's all on there, though. the link above is the first of a 5 part webisode which they aired on youtube leading up to the beginning of the show proper. and after that there are 6 episodes (also inspired by so many maddeningly short british series).
