Hi!

Now that I've finished meeting some crazy writing deadlines, I have some time to focus energies on funner things . . . like homework for @missy and @rambo (yeah!).

So here we are, ten random facts about me:

1) Spanish was my first language and I didn't really learn how to speak English until I started Kindergarten. I had a super thick accent up...

March 15th. The year is 2014.

I woke up to prepare the most grotesque (but delicious) breakfast I could fathom. A perfect amalgamation of Mexican and Greek cuisine. It. Was. Delicious.

Coffee makes for a wonderful dessert.

Last night, we fixed our back screen door for $0.20. This morning, we uprooted a lot of the shit in the backyard to clear the slate for a

"Hail Satan and Drink Coffee"   lol!  I need "Hail Satan and Eat Chocolate"!   "I'm still super far from my sales goal"  I still need to buy one!   " I love video games, but haven't played them in years due to a general lack of time."  I haven't played in a couple months, but this is after playing SKYRIM for a few MONTHS straight!

Shit, it's March already?

I went to AWP in Seattle. I didn't have a pass but managed to have a poor person's most excellent adventure. Portland bizarro writers carpooled up, met at the Hilton for a post-conference party, drank too much. I met and had insanely terrific conversation with the badass JS Breukelaar, crashed on my publisher's floor, woke up the next morning to

I haven't had a peanut but and jam sandwich in years. It was by far not the most bizarre sandwich I would eat. I used eat banana and peanut butter, cheese and jam, Vegemite and lettuce and cheese with tomato sauce and mustard sandwiches to name but a few.

I have discovered PB&J only after moving to South Africa. Peanut butter unfortunately isn't a thing in Croatia. The only time I had some before moving here was during the war, and it was from a Red Cross donation. I'm pretty sure I didn't like it back then. o.O

Life.

I find myself staring at dirty floors and thinking about everything and nothing all at the same time. The chatter of strangers bleeds into a buzz. Sensation finally returning to my weathered hands.

@Lyxzen is leaving Portland. She's moving to place that has summer year-round. She's going to continue living the most fabulous life possible because, goddamnit, she's earned it. Yes, I am sad...

I know exactly what you're talking about. I met my two best and dearest friends right here. Those two ladies are the only people I have ever really connected after moving to South Africa, and I really can't and don't want to imagine my life without them.
It must be incredibly sad to see her go, but only a true friend like you could be excited about the change in her life instead of sulking (I'm sure I would sulk, by the way).
