I don't have a favourite genre, but I did start collecting records in 1976 - punk, mainly, and from there, the rabbit holes open wide and deep. The only music I really don't care for, is what I call 'Chunky Jumper Folk'(which I have seen empty busy pubs... πππ) where some bloke with a finger in his ear makes a squeaky sort of sound, in a thick rural accent, which turns out to be a dirge about how the sea used to be black with Herring Drifters, etc. That just does my head in. Give me Napalm Death's 'You Suffer', or 'Fight Back' by Discharge any day. But I listen to anything, really. Old electronic is a favourite, as are old Blues records, Jazz, and Library music. A YouTube channel I love is the one of 'dEk 101', who makes superb cover versions of old electronic pop tunes. The sounds he uses to create them are always spot on. He also makes his own music, which is excellent, too.
