Introduction
I wanted Steve Prue to have the honor of writing this intro...
TMRONIN SAYS: it all started with an IM from Maxi one day, "i wanna shoot a set wearing a Bo-Peep outfit in the middle of a field with sheep - we can call it 'Peep Show'!" "Err...great! where do we get
sheep?" "hmmm...we'll figure it out." Well, that was good enough for
us and the shoot was booked with all the planning of a military takeover of a 3rd world country. Anteros scouted out a field near his house, Girlie got her Mother Goose Makeup ready and i did research on the whole Bo-Peep Mythos...no matter how i tried to work it out - it still involves sheep (usually with their tails cut off...i swear! look it up!)
Luckily, an illustrator/animator stepped up and offered to draw sheep into the set as a favor to Maxi...yay!
Sunday morning, spring, last year...we head out to the location. early enough to have most people in church, late enough to have enough sunlight over the field. Then it all went to hell...
- within 20 shots, the location strobe got picked up by a wind gust and smashed. "yeah, equipment trends to break around me." was Maxi's only comment.
- the phrase, "i got weeds up my ass" was uttered more than once.
- the reflector we were using went from evening out the lighting on Maxi (after killing the strobe) to blocking the view of the crowds who were just getting out of church and driving by and trying to figure out why there were 2 long haired guys and a naked girl in a field in the middle of nowhere PA. Several of the cars had to turn around and come back again to make sure they weren't seeing things.
- found out the illustrator was stricken with a brain tumor (he's
alive) and couldn't do the set for Maxi.
So this set sat for almost a year looking for its sheep. Luckily, Scott at SugarShack Tattoo (VonScotch) and Twwly came to the rescue and offered to bring this set back to life and draw/color our sheep.
We present to you one of the most expensive/involved sets in SG history
- between the broken equipment, costuming, at least one car almost driving into a ditch and several near accidents, a brain tumor, finding out that chiggers aren't as funny as their name would suggest...without further ado: Peep Show!
