In places like this, where winter's cold can make breathing nearly unbearable, we are sometimes forced to create sunlight sanctuaries within the confines of our homes. We hang windows to nowhere, as if opening them would give us fresh air. We use lights to mimic the daylight that nearly forgets us. We grow listless and bored; we count the snowflakes while waiting for the fever of springtime to wake us from our hibernation.
I think I can finally see the color creeping back into this city.
Come on, sunshine. Shine on me!
