The term Pinup appeared between the 40s and 50s to designate images of women with strong sensual attractiveness. It is important to point out that these women posed in a moralistic time in which showing their legs or being photographed naked was an offense to society, that is, female liberation was already taking its first steps towards the explosion of feminism in the 1960s. I could choose no other theme for this set. This is my simple homage to SuicideGirls, here we can be who we are, regardless of what society imposes on us. We are free, we are women! We are Pinups!
SuicideGirls… became famous for embracing beauty in every shape and form — meaning bodies covered in tattoos, having bright-colored hair, and being outside of traditional beauty norms were celebrated.
