Sid's sneer and Johnny's simple by-numbers idea of Anarchy inspired many a young British punk in the '70s, and was a catalyst to my own musical and political awakening in the '90s.
Of course, punk is now more an issue of unit sales and personal stylists. Or buried so deep in the underground that many dismiss it as dead. But that doesn't mean we can't take a break from our Earl Grey and scones to remember the heyday of a genre that started off with the best intentions.</div>
