How about a combination of both, that way you'll have the beauty and scent of real flowers and the keepsake of the artificial ones.
My advice...cut back a little on the flowers and put the extra into food. Also limit the guests to only those you'll really care about in ten years. Fewer guests, great food, drink, music and photos as much time as possible for you to enjoy it all.

Real. Do roses or some other flower that you can hang upside down and let dry. The spray them with hairsprain and they will last for years. I still have the ones from my wedding.
