We did the Sex Workers' contingent of the SF Dyke March for the 3rd year in a row, and again it was a hoot and we were the best dressed with the best signs. Yes, our signs had BOAS on them and said, "Sex Workin' Dykes Got Pride!" and "We're Here, We're Queer, We're Paid For It!".
Did I tell you I was ordered to cover my anti-war shirt at the Detroit airport on my way home from Paris? It looks vaguely like a flag, but the 'stars' are lip prints, and in place of stripes is a bomb with a line through it, and it says, "Kisses and peace don't hurt, bombs and politicians do". They made that much of a fuss over a simplistic little
t-shirt with a practically hello-kittyish aesthetic, my bf about died, but I wanted to see what would happen if I wore the shirt. Actually, I didn't want to leave France without having worn it.
The 4th of freakin' July was my Dad's birthday. Although he was Italian and a naturalized US citizen, he was the most American person you'd ever want to meet. I was an anarchist when he was alive, still am by some definitions. I toast to him, but cry for this country. We should have given it back while we still had the chance, and waited politely for an invitation.

The woman who told me that part about selling the house, etc., and writing is a much-published authoress but is I think, on this matter, confused.
