i bought a bicycle for 35 dollars. it goes very fast sometimes and makes me nervous. the handle bars feel kind of weird. so i've been practicing not getting hurt in the parking lot of my apartment complex. i am not athletic. it doesn't have a bell. however, it does have a light in the front.

being a bike messenger was by far my favorite job...although, i do love what i'm doing now...and as for the strike...YAH!!! it's about fucking time messengers started getting some attention (other than just the grrly kind..not like i'm knocking the exasperating joy of that) i mean, we work our asses off...riding through the elements and traffic...we almost die at least once everyday...and we are usually paid minimum wage with NO fucking healthcare...i'm sorry, but after all hearing all my friends stories and feeling the metal plates in their heads and what not from getting hit by cars...i think that bare minimum requirement should be fucking insurance! that's why i finally had to leave...i knew that it was only a matter of time before i got hit or in an accident...and then i not only wouldn't be able to work to pay for school, but i'd be indebted to the hospital as well...our healthcare system needs a serious overhaul...oh well...i stand in complete solidarity with the messengers..
