Vaper Education Pt. 2 Comparing atomizers Finding the best Flavor and Vapor production.
titusza1

Well if you've read my last big ass Vaper Education post I talk about the role airflow and heat play in flavor and vapor production. I got to thinking how do some atomizers pull off both and found the answers I was looking for to explain this I'll compare three RTA's (Rebuildible Tank Atomizers) Known for flavor The Kayfun, Taifun GT, and Taifun GS I'm Well if you've read my last big ass Vaper Education post I talk about the role airflow and heat play in flavor and vapor production. I got to thinking how do some atomizers pull off both and found the answers I was looking for to explain this I'll compare three RTA's (Rebuildible Tank Atomizers) Known for flavor The Kayfun, Taifun GT, and Taifun GS I'm using these as examples because out of my collection they vary the most in airflow and mixing chamber size. Though this idea can be applied to all atomizers. I'll be adding More photos and data as I rebuild the Atomizers and get detailed photos of the inner workings of each. But for now here's the line up. Top to bottom Kayfun, Taifun GT, and Taifun GS All these are built with 8 wraps of 28g kanthal and wicked with cotton ohming out at 1.4ohm. So most people know the Kayfun is a flavor beast but why? My conclusion is the small chamber size and good airflow this allows more vapor to be produced while not mixing with as much fresh air. In all once you have enough airflow to cool your coils any more will only lower the Flavor of your vape. Any existing air in the chamber will do the same. The smaller the Chamber the better the flavor. So with the Kayfun we have a small chamber and a adjustable airflow to get just the amount of air we need to keep our coils cool so we'll use this as our baseline. On to the Taifun GT this has a similar sized chamber but a more restricted airflow with the Normal draw tube (light draw and tight draw are available and are how airflow is regulated) This provides enough Air to cool our coil. with this set up it provides a slightly better flavor and slightly better vapor production than the Kayfun can. We could tighten our draw for a better flavor but this may lead to burning the liquid. So on to the Taifun GS so this has the same airflow options as the GT and also in this case I'm using the normal draw tube. This atomizer has a very small mixing chamber Resulting in the best flavor and vapor production out of the three. For a small funky looking thing I was really taken by the results. So as you can see the size of the mixing chamber in atomizers plays a large role in flavor production. I'm hoping to see some of the RDA's stumble in to reducing chamber size and really seeing some improvements there.
