Okay, sorry. Been out so long, feeling overlooked (i.e., underemployed), which isn't really a tweetable update.

But here's what's amazing: when I finally got an idea that might lead to independent work, I remembered a big presence on the SG site (from her blog!) and she was incredibly helpful with some real world development suggestions.

I can't say that this has entirely justified all the...

Insecure here.....or whatever you called me. The comment on Atlas's set was a fuck up. Rigel had it deleted, Atlas knows it was a mess up and I left her many great comments on the set.

SG Gentrifying?

I tried to find the right discussion group to toss this idea out there, but I couldn't find the right one. I'm not unhappy--look, I'm a member of the Yuppie Scum group, and I'm used to moving in with the rest of the artsy urban pioneers and watching the slow process of upscaling turning all the bodegas into pottery stores and fancy stroller...

Searching for positive spin, or scrounging for good omens: Today I am 7 squared, the gold rush, the nickname for plutonium, the year that the scholarly and somewhat effective Emperor Claudius married his niece.

Am I missing anything?

We almost lost Detroit

My Mayday/Beltane hit hard.
Coming home from breakfast at Cloud Nine, a little diner over the bridge, just forty feet out of the parking lot, I see a car going way too fast heading the way I'm going. I stop, since he's clearly not, but then, just when I freeze in the middle of the intersection, he changes his mindsuch as...

Going down to Florida to interview Search and Rescue squads tomorrow, the gangs that drop down into hurricanes and pluck people off rooftops or trek in for lost hikers or pull you out of earthquake rubble. I may even get to drop in on NORAD HQ, like in War Games or Independence Day.

Then right from there to LA to yammer with a movie actor--ten...

I try my best to entertain. How are you doing these days?
idgas:
It has just been a lousy few days.

  • The wife is making me nuts,
  • to write my (professional) bio for my website,
  • to rewrite the front page,
  • also to write the about us and the why us,
  • I still have not received all approvals to reuse my LinkedIn recommendations as testimonials,
  • I need to request some more recommendations,
  • then I need to turn much of the website in to a presentation packet,
  • a display problem with the software for which I have found a solution, and
  • I need to write a white paper on a topic I have yet to determine.

I am having so much fun. However, SG has emoticons that describe all of my feelings whatever mad surreal

Signs of the times, author version.

I'm not unemployed--as a working writer, you can't say you're unemployed if the projects simply dry up and disappear. But I'm running out of longterm paying projects. Most of the magazines I write for have drawn in the wagons as their advertising shrinks, and I've stopped getting calls. I've put together pitches for some great stuff (and that takes...

Enjoyed your reply to me very much. For the record I am a boob guy and Library of Congress and not so much of psfb or Dewey Decimal System. I did in my younger day work in a bookstore where one of the clerks organized a section by color.

But what is the difference between suckable pussy, hereafter sp, and more vag (mv) beyond the boorish nature of the later? Both are subjective descriptions and not objective and thus of limited value in the search for ones turn-ons.

Tagging anonymously brought out the worst in people and I for one am happy to see it go. I also strongly agree that this is not a matter of free speech. Limits on posting content has been discussed ad nauseum in all of the boards and has been described in the TOS.

In a down economy what better activity is there for two 40 something guys then the discussion of the value of tags are the research of them.

Again, I enjoyed your reply.

Best Regards
Idgas

Not enough people are willing to take the role of devils advocate. And too many people with the reading comprehension skills of a poorly stuff parrot misread or take offense when the devil plays his part.

If you return to continue the discussion an example like "whoa dang!" is better for making your point than "suckable pussy." A comment like "whoa dang!" offers a unique insight to one maybe two our fellow SGers.

As an fyi my general objection to subjective search terms comes from two decades in technology.

If you are not spending time on the current events board consider it. Playing devil there can be fun and painful. Also the opportunity to stomp on a troll is fun.

Resolutions: 100 straight days of sex. Maybe that's not a resolution. More of a Hanukkah gift that my wife and I are giving to each other. With 4 kids, all under 10, getting up all hours, the getting laid part of wedded bliss can get mislaid, so we decided to do something about it. We're three days in!

Hows your 100 days going? I mean, sometimes you just don't feel like it?

"I love the way Viking celebrates each hair color with a new set . Can't wait to see every shade in the pantone color book." Sick Sad World

Haha yeah! That sounded snarky. But I love changing my hair! I'm thinking pink next. confused

Sexual revolutions. The first one I missed cause I was too young, the next one cause I wasn't gay (I did give it the old college try, honest), the one after that I shampooed far too often to qualify for, and this new one? Who isn't too old for it? How many 14-year-old Chilean club kids can there be?

Frankly, if I can't dance I...
