Horrorfest Nears Its Fateful End...Who Will Take the Crown?
It's Friday and that means it's time for your weekly update on who's getting chopped and sliced in the Miss Horrorfest 2007 competition. For the past several weeks, SGHQ has kept you abreast on who's who in the contest to be this year's Queen of Scream. A little reminder, the winner receives $50,000, fame, glory, a year of exotic travel as the reigning Miss Horrorfest.
Last week the sexy screamers sharpened their claws and some full on cat-fighting sabotage ensued. Check out Horrorfest's YouTube Group to catch up on everything you might have missed. YouTube police cracked down with censorship but our SuicideGirls contestants prevailed and now we're proud to say that 11 total SGs are vying for the crown. Namaste, Oubliette, Seraphim, Sid and Scarlett have joined Nixon, Salome, Roach, Sash, YoYo and Illyria in submitting videos.

Miss Horrorfest Contest Gets Bloody
Heavy is the head that wears the crown. Heavy, and decapitated.
For the last two Fridays, SGHQ has kept you up to date on the contest to be named Miss Horrorfest. You can play catch up right here and here if you're behind.
This week the fighting, flaming, lol'ing, censoring and voting took place at Horrorfest's YouTube Group.
Like any election in recent memory, this has descended into an unseemly ruckus as the gals have been "flagging" each others videos as being inappropriate resulting in YouTube police removing several videos.
We're all familiar with the rules of horror -- like don't go outside alone to see what that noise was. But are you familiar with the rules of horror films -- like don't cut your piece to Metallica? They love money and you didn't give them any.
With that in mind, here are a few tips for how to craft a suitable submission:
* Familiarize yourself with YouTube's fine print
* Be sure that anything you shoot, cut in, post in, and possibly even where or use in your video is cleared. Especially music: Even Happy Fucking Birthday is copyrighted. Every time it's sung on TV or in a movie the decedents of some simpleton get a check.
* You'll need a thick skin and a strong stomach to survive the boards of fire, where the Haterz live. The internet is where you go to be hated. End of story.
* Post a video where you really sell yourself as the Miss Horrorfest spokesmodel.
This week, Sash's video debuts. It's pretty damn creepy. Rate hers and all your favorite SuicideGirls' videos highly. Remember, there is 50 grand riding on this outcome.
Sash looked like Ronette Pulaski all over again.
Roach's video is great. Her entry shows command of style and technique, and music clearance! That's Sawa singing in her video.

YoYo's video is very well edited and really stands out, bloody bathroom convulsions and all. Let's hope she's friends with Alice In Chains:
Illyria's video shows her slow dancing her way to an early grave.
Salome Suicide's video survived the hack and slash between the hopefuls and while Nixon was not so fortunate, her video did rise from the dead and can be seen (and voted for) right here.

Last week Miss Horrorfest 2007 announced its call for entries, so to kill time at SGHQ we've been keeping tabs on all the horrific hopefuls to see which ladies are in the lead to nab the crown for this year's Queen of Scream. Here are our favorites this week:
Nixon Suicide
Leave it to our very own lovely Nixon to submit an entry considered "too hot to handle" for YouTube. Atta' girl! It seems decapitation and mutilation is OK, but simulating sex noises is not. Regardless, after getting her video removed, Nixon created a second "censored" version which is back on the site and ready for your vote. And I must say, who knew censorship could be so hilarious? Both versions are available below for your viewing pleasure.

AfterDark's Horrorfest is a weekend long scream fest of "8 films to die for" where fans get to indulge in all things spooky and, once again, they're looking to crown a new Queen of Scream. Contestants can join this YouTube group and submit their video for approval and their chance to win. The winner receives $50,000, fame, glory, a year of exotic travel as the reigning Miss Horrorfest and, of course, a tiara to die for.

After Dark Horrorfest Features 8 New Horror Films in One Weekend
Coming later this month, November 17-19, is the After Dark Horrorfest - a one weekend only film festival featuring 8 new films deemed "too graphic or disturbing for general audiences". The films include: Unrest, Penny Dreadful, The Gravedancers, The Hamiltons, Reincarnation (from the director of The Grudge), Dark Ride, The Abandoned, and Wicked Little Things. Time to see how much fear you can cram into your taut little mind over a 72 hour period.
Horrorfest will come to 500 theaters in 35 citites in the U.S. Advance tickets are available on a per-theater basis.

To celebrate next month's After Dark Horrorfest film festival, a contest to find the next "Queen of Scream", Miss Horrorfest 2006 is happening right now at YouTube.
Hopefuls have been posting videos to the Horrorfest YouTube page and voting on finalists starts today. After viewing the finalists' submissions, go here to vote for your favorite.
The After Dark Horrorfest is a weekend of 8 new horror films playing over three nights (November 17-19) only in theaters. Advance tickets for Horrorfest go on sale tomorrow, October 31st.
