"Axis of Evil" Nation Endorses Bush

It seems that John Kerry isn't the only candidate getting support from foreign leaders. Iran, the nation, is endorsing Bush for president.

TEHRAN, Iran -- The head of Iran's security council said Tuesday that the re-election of President Bush was in Tehran's best interests, despite the administration's axis of evil label, accusations that Iran harbors al-Qaida terrorists and threats of sanctions over the country's nuclear ambitions.

Historically, Democrats have harmed Iran more than Republicans, said Hasan Rowhani, head of the Supreme National Security Council, Iran's top security decision-making body.

Iran was happy to see Bush destroy two big regional enemies -- the Taliban in Afghanistan and Saddam Hussein in Iraq.

Iranian political analyst Mohsen Mofidi said ousting the Taliban and Saddam was the "biggest service any administration could have done for Iran."

Mofidi added that "Democrats usually insist on human rights and they will have more excuses to pressure Iran."

In a surprise move, the Soviet Union re-formed in order to support Bush.
"Democratskis and their kind made imperialism unpopular for a while there," said Eduard Shevardnadze, recently decently deposed Prime Minister of Georgia and newly appointed Komsomol head, "but this whole adventurism of the U.S. has shown us we can pick up where we left off. And Yes, I'm looking at you, Poland."

That might just be the single most fucked up thing I've ever heard. Too bad it makes so much sense. surreal

Jesus

Add this to the endorsements by Iyad "Summary Execution" Alawi of Iraq and the former KGB goon running Russia's democracy into the ground, and the cognitive dissonance begins to resemble vertigo.

It is amazing how easily a foreign government that is our enemy can so easily manipulate the american media and the american people as proven by the comments above into thinking that they really mean what they are saying. They are saying they are endorsing Bush knowing that people in america would see that as something negative towards Bush. It doesn't matter who you are voting for, this should be seen as simple and easily recognizable propaganda.

Sadly, neither the reformation of the totalitarian "republic" nor its putative dictators endorsement of Bush are jokes.

It is great - if true Iran, like Libya before them (and hopefully soon Syria) are obviously making attempts to mend bridges. They weren't so eager BEFORE the wars on the Taliban and Saddam.

Former member states with
a) no oil
b) no oil pipelines
c) no oil refineries
are doing just great vis a vis pressure from moscow.

I mean, insofar as it is great to be a thouroughly depressed client state.

No, russian agression in the last years isn't funny at all. I find the russian empire just about the most depressing saga of the last 200 years.

But Shevardnadze being appointed head of Komsomol is, just a little, funny.
I can just picture him in shorts and a little cap.

That last quote about the Demorcrats putting pressure on Iran for their incredibly disgusting human rights record is just hilarious. The irony weighs so heavy that I feel even fatter than usual.

You've got to be kidding me. It's not like he's saying "Hey, put that Bush guy into office and we'll play diplomatic ball. We're willing to introduce all sorts of reforms if you make sure there's a Republican in the White House."

No, in fact, the reason they want Bush is that both candidates will press them about nuclear issues, but if Kerry is elected, they expect to also catch flak for their miserable human rights record.

In other words, their reasoning goes something like this: "Hey, if Bush wins, we'll still have challenges to our nuclear programs, but at least we'll still be able to throw political dissidents into prisons indefinitely! And torture? Ha! No sweat! Bush can't get on our case for a practice he and his administration condone for their own use."

Yeah, that's really fucking uplifting. Fills me up with optimism, it does. whatever
