John Kerry the video game

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 19 2004 11:32 AM

Submitted by BatAttaK. Edited By legionnaire.

From the file entitled "truth is stranger than fiction" comes the new video game in which you too can become John Kerry and whoop some butt Swift Boat style.

Available for download from kumawar.com as a free seven-day trial, the game will put players in the combat boots of a 25-year-old Lt. Kerry on Feb. 28, 1969, the date he earned his Silver Star citation.

Players will have the opportunity to view and participate in the action from Kerry's perspective, up to and including the point where Kerry beached his swift boat on the banks of the Mekong and chased down the enemy on foot.

But in a nod to game play, "Swift Boat PCF-94" will not hue strictly to Kerry's experience. On Feb. 28, 1969, Kerry was indeed the tactical commander of a three boat squadron that suffered repeated ambushes. And on that day he is credited with overriding common swift boat procedure by pressing the attack. But whereas Kerry only beached his swift boat once, players may have the option in "Swift Boat PFC-94" to up the action from Silver Star winner to Rambo.

"Our first objective is to replay that events that occurred in 1969," said Halper. "But we also want to allow people the chance to experience some sort of free-form play."

This election has now become officially surreal.

I hear in that game if you do well enough, you unlock a bonus level where you go do lines at Camp David.

Hmmm, whatever--I know I got a little worked up.

If we were talking about whether or not Lucas was a hack I would have be much more civil. I just cannot believe how much of hypocrisy that comes outta this dude--it really is breathtaking the mix of arrogance and what seems like ignorance (but is probably in reality cognitive dissonance)

What I am saying is that guys like this Lasswell are representative of a large sector of the population who are really subverting the political process in the US. That really pisses me off--why, because it causes our guys to die and a lot of innocent Iraqis (who, by the way, are just as human as us) to die. It also props up a political party that basically subsists on dirty politics, wedge issues and, through manipulating peoples ideas about faith. This done in such a way as to drive our democracy into this machiavellian pissing match that we have today.

So--Laswell, Totten, and Stockula may be ok guys to have a beer with but their politics as a group and in this forum is repugnant. And I mean truly offensive, to any right minded and thinking individual--maybe not at face value in a post on a video game or about a theory concerning the CBS document, but taken as a whole these agendas are truly shameful.

I for one could care less about the sass-factor in threads, but I do understand that it is counter productive to real discourse and I will keep a lid on it from now on.
