God Damn Reverend Wright

I am horrified by the words coming out of Reverend Wright’s mouth and the crazy things he believes. I tried to accept that he was misunderstood, or that he speaks for a culture that I may not understand, but this weekend he went to the National Press Club and explained his positions – to my utter dismay. How can any man believe such things? Especially a Reverend! It is astounding that any American would accept as true such outlandish ideas.

I cannot stand the idea that a future president would have ever gone to a church where the Reverend stood at the pulpit and uttered such insane phrases this...

The government lied about inventing the HIV virus as a means of genocide against people of color. The government lied.

It is horrifying that any man in this day and age would hold onto such a viewpoint – and even more horrifying that he would preach it to his flock. Church is a place where we tell the truth... such as, Jesus died on the cross, was then buried, rose from the dead and now lives at the right hand of his Father, making intercession for the believers forever. That is what church is for, not to spew the make believe ideas that have no basis in fact. Who would believe such insane nonsense?

When Wright first became part of the primary story, he was quoted saying, “God Damn America.” What kind of nut believes God would damn America? We are a good and decent nation. I do not believe God will damn us, at least not the true believers, like myself, who are lucky to be living in the End Time, when the son of God will return, the righteous will enter heaven, and sinners will be condemned to eternal hellfire. As an American, I am offended to hear Wright’s hate speech and don’t understand how someone can believe such crazy things.

The time has come to openly question Barack Obama’s beliefs. After all, he did attend this man’s church for 20 years. Does Obama believe, as Wright said this week, that…

Louis Farrakhan is one of the most important voices in the 20th and 21st century.

It is incredibly hateful to hold a reckless anti-Semite, like Farrakhan, in such high-esteem. Wright believes in Farrakhan and Farrakhan believes the Jews are evil. As a good American, I cannot disagree more. We faithful fully support Israel because we believe the 1948 creation of the nation marked the first event in the "countdown to Armageddon.” The Jews must reside in the land of Israel for The End Times to occur, which is why we back Israel. So, obviously a good American cannot support the hate speech of Mr. Farrakhan.

We really must begin to question whether or not Barack Obama has the same values as Mr. Wright. Does Obama also believe that on 9/11 our “chickens were coming home to roost?” Such wild fantasies are completely unfounded and are greatly at odds with any normal American, who believes that after the Rapture nonbelievers left behind on earth will endure seven years of unspeakable suffering called the Great Tribulation, which will culminate in the rise of the Antichrist and the final battle of Armageddon between God and Satan. And that upon winning that battle, Christ will send all unbelievers into the pits of hellfire, re-green the planet, and reign on earth in peace with His followers for a millennium. I’m sorry, Mr. Wright, Americans are good people.

I seriously question whether or not Wright can hold onto widespread American beliefs and dispel such racist and hateful thoughts at the same time. Who is this man? And why is he such a good friend of Obama? I do not adhere to the disturbing beliefs of Reverend Wright and I don’t think most Americans do either.

So, Reverend Wright, you may take your insane ranting and leave America forever. We don’t want your kind here, especially because Jesus is coming back any day now to kill the homosexuals.

Are you joking? Have you seen Barack's condemnation and heard him denounce Rev. Wright?

Barack came to south side chicago after Yale with little experience in the Balck community. Let's not forget he was raised primarily by a white mother, in Kansas and the private academies in Hawaii (on scholarship) more than than in any foreign country.

WHen he returned to Chicago again after Harvard Law in the early 1990's, he needed a way to integrate himself into the Black community and needed a way to learn about how to work in this community.

So he joined a church. Not just any church, but the black church in chicago which had the most diversity (as in white people too)> Oh, and it was also the church where the BUPPIES or Black upwardly mobile young professionals all chose to go.

It was NOT some marginalized, crazy bunch of people from the ghetto, not a bunch of fringe lunatics.

I doubt I need to provide links to this -- this information and this social context is everywhere.

And I think we are discovering that people everywhere tune out a great deal if they even attend as much as they say they do...

One thing I hate about places like Los angeles is that the car society breeds such segregation people cannot even put things into any proper context....

FTR, let's just hope the "Rev." Wright is in toe with this sacredly binding list* so he is in touch with the god of the American people:

"Here are the things Jesus hates:

The State Department
The IRS
Global Warming
The UN (Oh man, does Jesus hate the UN)
Old Europe
Gays (duh)
Liberals
Jews
Muslims
Anybody but Christians, actually
People who don't own guns
Soccer
ACLU
Abortionists
Feminists

That's it. Anything not on that list, Jesus does not hate. Those are the subjects our spiritual leaders are allowed to cover. "
*From: FTR, previous article

I take exceptional offense to "soccer."

But, anyway, from what I have read, Obama is closing up the pledged delegate leads, despite this orchestrated crap. So that's good.

Let me know. I am desperate for American political news!!!!

me thinks Obama's camp may have jumped the shark, letting this guy off his leash. which, was at the height of the 'Obama Muslim?' attack FoxNews was spearheading--

what better way to Prove your Christianity, than with an outspoken fire-and-brimstone black evangelist playing the race card with his whole deck...

hmm... do you think its too late for Barack to disavow RevWright and just say he's converted to Islam, because they are more tolerant and forgiving than the good Reverend?

all i'm sayin is no one (outside of chicago) knew who Wright was until everyone was asking is Barack Hussein Obama one of them Islams?
-now it could have been that the Rev saw the media beating on one of his parishioners and he fect the holy spirit compel him to do this, as kind of a lone_gun_man or was he approached by someone in Obama's camp asking him to step forward and say a few words about how you know Black Jesus Obama, that he is a X-ian and youre disappointed in the media for blowing a non-issue out of context- and while The Rev was delivering the message he was tapped to speak, he just went off the reservation?

meh

i just think for the past two hundred some odd years America has been helmed by competent, (generally) Intelligent, old white men, and about 40ish years ago shit got fucked up...
and we need someone who can fix the way the country works before the show Jericho goes from being an unjustly canceled hidden gem of a show to being downright prophetic, just with the names and faces changed...

-
"why can't we have nice things?"
"nice things are usually different, and people dont like change"

Um, now that is just to easy...

BTW, as already pointed out, Mr. Obama has publicly denounced the good Reverend for spewing his garbage.
