But it's a funny thing. I don't actually think of them as whores. To me they just seem like really nice women who work as sex workers.

Of course, some people struggle with the concept that an emotionally and mentally mature man and woman can come to this agreement. Maybe they're jealous. At least the amount of verbal venom we have spat upon us would suggest that.

Why is it difficult to accept the fact that she is happy selling sexual services and the client is happy to purchase them? There is no exploitation or power game here. It is a happy, mature and mutually respectful agreement. There is no need to be judgmental or angry at those who have decided they want to do this.

To me it's no different from passing judgment on people for other bedroom activities. If you don't like it don't do it. It's not hurting you so mind your own business and keep your nasty comments and condescending judgmental language out of it. It seems to me that some people have such an inferiority complex that they have to find someone in society who they can publicly condemn with verbal violence and without fear of consequence.

I am sure the immediate response once again will be to suggest that "Working Girls" are all exploited and have lost their self-respect and clients are all insensitive, but it's not true. It's simply not true! Only direct experience will teach you otherwise. As TheFuckOffKid has pointed out. He has met a young woman who works as a sex worker and has probably found her to be a gracious person, no less deserving of respect than anyone else in society. If it is who I think it is, her blog reveals an intelligence and writing talent that is awesome. Which doesn't surprise me. I have met lots of immensely intelligent and talented women who are sex workers.

I don't know. Perhaps it is just the city I live in and the brothels I go to that gives me such a positive outlook on the profession. But then, the same can be said of many other jobs can't it? There are lots of jobs that can be done in a safe and respectful environment or done in a dangerous and exploitive environment. When we think of sex-work why do we always have to think of the dark and exploitive?

I am not an unkind or insensitive male. I do not treat women as objects. I am not desperate. I can get laid outside of a brothel. %u2013 I just happen to like this special kind of encounter. The girls who work in these brothels are not desperate or exploited. They can say "No" to any prospective client. Most earn a lot more than their clients (good for them!). They are not drug dependant (though some might be. But then so are some doctors and lawyers). Some are married. Some are single mothers. Some are studying. Some have other work and do this for part time work. (I was with one the other day who is a qualified lawyer). Some do it for fun. Yes, it can be a LOT of fun for both parties. Some of us become friends outside of the parlour.
