Badgers Can be Surly

Congratulations to Governor Doyle and the smart people of Wisconsin who voted for him--he's turned down $600,000 worth of bullshit "abstinence education" money from the Feds. Among other nonsense, this year's money comes with a requirement that

the programs . . . teach that sexual activity outside of marriage could have harmful physical and psychological effects.

In the past, Maine, California, and Pennsylvania have also turned the money down.

No wonder the state motto is "forward."

Bitch_PhD likes the Great Lakes states, but she likes having 70+ degree weather in early March even better.

Do we have a list of the other states that turned it down?

We rule. It's too bad Jim Doyle is 2/3 as corrupt as Tom Delay, otherwise he'd be kickass.

I love when people say stupid things. xD Mark Green would have run our state into the ground. I'll take this over that phony any day. Go back to sleep, Bitch.

While that sentence is horrific, you are right. I just assumed that what Bitch was saying was backasswards. It's difficult to cut through my intense dislike of the woman to see that she might actually have something remotely interesting to say.

I do love that "No wonder the state motto is 'forward'" comes four months after WI brought back the death penalty, though.

Wisconsin hasn't brought it back as of now. That was just basically an opinion poll put on the ballot. "Would you like to see the death penalty brought back for serious crimes?" It was just a ploy by the Republicans (it and the gay marriage "amendment") to get voters to the polls. They still lost the governor's race. But yeah, that wasn't a law. It probably never will be.
