Shhh! It's a Clinton cover-up

If South Park is to be believed (as it always should be), 25% of the American public are retards, who believe the Islamist attacks on 9/11 were actually staged by someone else.

The identity of that "someone" varies from retard to retard. Some believe it was MOSSAD (who cleverly arranged for every Jew working in the WTC, to throw a "sickie" on the day of the attack).

Some believe that it was Bush and the Neo-cons, who orchestrated the elaborate scheme to justify the war on Iraq (yet somehow couldn't manage to plant a few WMDs).

Others believe it was the Illuminati, Elvis or some giant lizards that flew the planes, but aside from their obvious mental illness, there is one thing that all 9/11 conspiracy theorists have in common. They all believe that a cover-up took place.

Strange then, the almost Zen-like collective silence over the only officially confirmed 9/11 cover-up.

Could this be because it was Bill Clinton's 9/11 Commission representative, who got caught stealing and destroying documents from the National Archives?

President Clinton's national security adviser removed classified documents from the National Archives, hid them under a construction trailer and later tried to find the trash collector to retrieve them, the agency's internal watchdog said Wednesday.

The report was issued more than a year after Sandy Berger pleaded guilty and received a criminal sentence for removing the documents.

Berger took the documents in the fall of 2003 while working to prepare himself and Clinton administration witnesses for testimony to the Sept. 11 commission. Berger was authorized as the Clinton administration's representative to make sure the commission got the correct classified materials.

One wonders what, exactly, Sandy Burglar was trying to hide. Somehow I don't think it was the involvement of Jimmy Hoffa and a top secret Masonic lodge.

We'll never know. Not that this desecration seems to bother the Truthers that much. Perhaps they believe Sandy's legal team.

Berger's lawyer, Lanny Breuer, said in a statement that the contents of all the documents exist today and were made available to the commission.

But ultimately, we only have the word of the thief on this.

But Rep. Tom Davis, R-Va., outgoing chairman of the House Government Reform Committee, said he's not convinced that the Archives can account for all the documents taken by Berger. Davis said working papers of National Security Council staff members are not inventoried by the Archives.

"There is absolutely no way to determine if Berger swiped any of these original documents. Consequently, there is no way to ever know if the 9/11 Commission received all required materials," Davis said.

So what—or who—drove Sandy to this rash act of smuggling?

Officials told The Associated Press at the time of the thefts that the documents were highly classified and included critical assessments about the Clinton administration's handling of the millennium terror threats as well as identification of America's terror vulnerabilities at airports and seaports.

Heaven forbid anyone criticize Clinton's handling of anything. Blood and teeth still litter the floors of ABC, following their dramatization of the events leading up to 9/11.

So how did Sandy actually lift the stuff?

Berger took a break to go outside without an escort while it was dark. He had taken four documents in his pockets.

"He headed toward a construction area. ... Mr. Berger looked up and down the street, up into the windows of the Archives and the DOJ (Department of Justice), and did not see anyone," the interview notes said.

He then slid the documents under a construction trailer, according to the inspector general. Berger acknowledged that he later retrieved the documents from the construction area and returned with them to his office.

The notes said that Berger had "destroyed, cut into small pieces, three of the four documents. These were put in the trash."

We've had more than a year of microscopic press analysis of Libby, Rove, Delay, but heard barely a squeak about Berger.

With all this talk about presidential aides shredding documents, I have to ask, where are the latter day Woodward & Bernsteins seeing just how far up this cover-up went? Or does that just level of attention only apply to rogue Republicans?

Well one part you left out that makes less sense is why would Bush's Justice Department let Berger off with a slap on the wrist? In fact the Judge had to increase the initial fine because it was absurdly low. Something really strange is going on.

Oh and I scooped you. smile

Two options come to mind: 1) Bush's DOJ is a part of the conspiracy or 2) there is no "there" there.

when in doubt, blame it on clinton.

i'm with hadees on this one: the levity of the punishment is a little stinky.

Was that sarcasm? You're acting like he didn't get blowjob. Jesus, man. Obviously Clinton wanted to destroy the WTC to discredit his successor and pave the way for Hillary in '08. I mean, the man got a blowjob, for Christ's sake!

SPOILERS! (Click to view)
The whole situation stinks. I'm not sure what Berger was doing - apparently not even the DoJ is - but it can't have been good. By comparison, though, I think just about the worst it could've been in terms of criminality (or more likely, evidence of negligence) would be hard put to rise (sink?) to the level of business-as-usual for the present administration.

I could be wrong. But I doubt it.

Something important had to be in those documents otherwise they wouldn't have been classified and Berger wouldn't have tried to destroy them, Frankly even if they had nothing in them they were classified and anyone who intentionally attempts destroy classified documents should serve time in prison.

It was Clinton's national security adviser who did this. We won't exactly know whats up until the documents are declassified. It stinks on both sides of the isle.

Uptight doesn't need editing skills.

He makes his own proofreading reality.

Little people like you will just have to man up.

Or be left in the dustbin of history.

And, while we're on the subject, why do you want the terrorists to win? Is because you're gay or because you're French?

MrCrisp is clearly a gay frenchman; he's been spreading his vile lies across these boards for some time now.

You know I think he does that now to fuck with you guys. And the way these boards are formated adds extra lines. Every time I post I have to delete the line between my reponse and the end quote tag and then move the end quote tag up one line so you don't get that extra line at the bottom.
