American vs Iraq: The Thanksgiving Day Parades

Iraq attempted to show us up with their own version of a Thanksgiving Day parade, but theirs sucked. In New York we once again showed the world how it was done.

In America Pokémon flew down the street over the heads of dazzled children.

While in Iraq, one of their floats blew up in Sadr City, killing 160 people. That is not a good parade.

In New York the monopoly guy soared down the street and delighted thousands, nay, millions.

In Iraq this singer guy performed while some random dude clung to him. The singer doesn’t even look like he is having a good time. How about a little showmanship?

And Charlie Brown was there! Weeee! Charlie!

I don’t even know what this is supposed to be. Shitty float.

The Iraqis really need to take a look at their parade chairman because this is a total failure. I don’t think anyone died at the New York parade, while 160 perished in Baghdad and 257 were wounded.

Way to go New York! Happy Thankgiving!

I was going to comment that I'm thankful I don't live in the US. Now all I can think is that I'm thankful I don't live in Iraq.

To be honest, I think a parade in which people die and others get injured would be far more entertaining.

Hey, not all of the US sucks. But exploding floats would be cool to see. The Jet Puffed marshmallow man in a fiery ball of exploding fury. Awesome. shocked

This just goes to show that the Iraqis are not ready for freedom, and need another twenty, thirty years of occupation and exploit - er, freedom under the supervision of American troops before they can take their rightful place in the community of nations. We must stay the course!

Well at least they're trying. Can't fault them so early on for trying to infuse some aspects of their culture & heritage into their version of the parade right?

I think it suits the very meaning of thanksgiving. "Hi, we have big weapons...thanks for the land."
