Oh, Santorum is fucked... no doubt... but he is only espousing most of the virtues of middle America. As much as most of us don't like that, he does it. Knowing that I am from PA and knowing how idiotic the Casey family is.... its the lesser of two evils, my friend, and that rings true here.

btw: this race should be proof that Iraq was the main issue in this election, in many parts of this country. Both Casey and Santorum were cultural conservatives in a lot of ways, but they differed on Iraq. Santorum was for, Casey was against.

The thing is Iraq is a worry, but how about our habit of allowing companies to go overseas and lose American jobs... aka the Wal-Mart syndrome? How about the fact that the upper incomes are proportionately greater now than at any time in our nation's history? Not to mention our education system needs a complete overhaul...

Repubs do little to help any of that, in fact they encourage the outsourcing of labour, they encourage the rich getting richer and do little to truly help education.

Meanwhile the Democrats are all about allowing our borders to stay open for the illegal influx, taxing the shit out of us and throwing money into almost every social cause known to man.

There is no real middle ground with the two parties and our current system isn't set up for a third party to make a stride because it is all about money, airtime and placards on the damn roads.

I'm glad Santorum is out, now lets see what Casey can do better.
