US vs. North Korea

Now that North Korea has become a nuclear power, lets take a look at where we stand, head to head. Basically, we can kick their fucking ass and I say bring it.

Number of Bombs: North Korea has enough radioactive material to make between 4 and 13 nuclear weapons, although the true amount cannot be verified.

The US has more than 5,000 strategic warheads, more than 1,000 operational tactical weapons and 3,000 reserve strategic and tactical warheads. That’s almost one warhead for every man in North Korea.

Missiles: In 1998, North Korea fired a long-range ballistic missile over Japan into the Pacific Ocean. This July, they tested seven missiles but a long-range missile capable of hitting America exploded after liftoff.

We could fire missiles, have them fly around the earth and hit us if we wanted to. We don’t, but it’s a pretty great thing to say.

Kick-assedness: A South Korean geological institute said the North Korean test was equivalent to 550 tons of TNT. But the Russian defense minister said it was larger, 5,000 to 15,000 tons of TNT.

Our bombs are fucking huge. In 1996, France detonated a bomb that had a yield of about 120,000 tons of TNT. We are better than France, so our bombs are even bigger.

How seasoned?: North Korea has only been accumulating plutonium for a bomb since the mid-1980s. In 1994 it froze the program because Bill Clinton was weak and held diplomatic talks with North Korea. Then Bush took over and stopped all that talking nonsense, causing the agreement Clinton had created to break down and North Korea ramped up production. Since 2002, 80 percent of the country's stockpile of 44 to 116 pounds of refined plutonium has been processed. North Korea is on course to increase its’ stockpile to 160 pounds, or enough for between 8 and 17 bombs.

The US has had bombs since the 40s, when we tested two on Japan. Unfortunately, our testing resulted in Godzilla, who is a very bad monster.

Goddamit FTR, I'm tired of your ignorant bullshit. You're just another stupid american who represents us so poorly around the world. Godzilla isn't a bad monster, he has a huge heart to go along with that huge body--he's just misunderstood.

added bonus: destabilization in the reigon means the American dollar makes gains against the South Korean, Chinese, and Japanese market! it's win-win!

All I have to add here is : well damn! I can't believe people are so bent about this piss-ant little country. I mean, seriously, how hard would it be to bitch slap a country with only 9000 men?

My niece could do the job just with her cheerleader camp!

It's actually very difficult to make a nuclear weapon with a yield that small. If the South Koren estimate is correct, it's likely that North Korea just detonated a large amount of explosives and fuel.

That would be hilarious. If they just got a bunch of TNT, set it off and pretended it was a nuke.

It is understood that the US policy of nuclear weapons is "If you nuke us, we're going to obliterate mankind", right? So, it doesn't matter how many weapons we have...if someone fires a nuke, say goodbye to civilization.

I can't believe that the minor, minor nuclear threat North Korea poses is getting so much press. What they should be covering is the absolute devastation, persecution, torture, rape, murder, oppression and various other injustices that are occurring within it's borders under the regime of Kim Jong-Il. He is, albeit on a smaller scale, a worse threat to humanity than Saddam.

But thats happening to their own people, interviening would be a death sentence for millions of people in Seoul SK. so the lesser of the two evils is to allow the repressive regiem to stand so that others in the region do not suffer. That being said the fact that they have the bomb has just started a nuclear arms race in the far east. And all it will take is for Taiwan to build one single lnuke and declare independance for all hell to break loose.

Oh nonono, that's the mistake that people make. The US will launch enough nuclear weapons to destroy mankind. I wish I could find the exact verbage, but that is what it comes down to. You nuke us, everybody better fucking duck.
