More Sweet Page Fucking?

The Republicans are slowly eating each other alive over the Mark Foley page scandal as amused Democrats sit back and watch the carnage. Recent polls indicate that 61% of Americans believe that Republican leaders have been "protecting Foley for several years.” And Democrats have widened their lead as 47% of Americans say they will vote for a Democrat this November and 34% will vote for a Republican. That is a 13-point advantage, a five-point increase since August. Currently Democrats are leading in 11 of 15 crucial races for the House.

The entire Republican leadership is in trouble. John Boehner, the Republican House Majority Leader, and Tom Reynolds, the Chair of the NRCC, both say they told Dennis Hastert personally about the Foley issue months ago. Hastert says both are lying. Kirk Fordham, Reynolds former Chief of Staff and Foley’s ex-Chief of Staff was forced to resign after ABC claimed he attempted to cover up the scandal. Fordham has since also claimed he told Hastert three years ago. As the pressure mounts, Dennis Hastert is refusing to resign as Speaker of the House. Meanwhile, three more former pages are claiming Foley approached them with sexually suggestive emails.

But most exciting of all, Illinois Republican Ray LaHood alluded to there being more page fucking going on.

"People are very, very concerned. They think there are going to be more disclosures."

I've seen some former pages on the news. I think the question we Americans should be asking ourselves is, "How do you not fuck them?"

Good to see the Democrats getting back into the game. Be nicer if they got back into the game by sorting out a message that sells better to the masses, rather than being dependent on gay Republicans trolling for underage ass online and getting caught (which seems a bit gimmicky really to build a reliable power base on) but it's getting to the point where you've got to take what you can get.

While it appeared, over the last few decades, that Democrats were splintered, unorganized and confused, they have actually been laying the groundwork for this elaborate and effective scheme - recruiting hot pages was Democrats' nefarious plan all along. They knew, eventually, if they dangled enough young sausage, the Republicans would hang themselves with it. Then they could spring a trap worthy of Carl Rove's playbook.

The Repugs will close ranks around Hastert (it's already started) and Rove will have his own October Suprise. This ain't over. The Repugs are okay with very slim majorities in elections, as a matter of fact they depend upon them.

They do not want to represent America. The want their party to be in control. That is all that matters and they will do everything possible to pull it off.

A war fought under clearly false pretenses, where tens of thousands of people have died, doesn't bring down a government. But then this sex scandal, where there may or may not have been any actual sex, is a much bigger threat?

I am loving this. If that labels me as a liberal or a Democrat (something I've tried to steer clear of in the past), I don't care. This is too good.

A Republican Congressman having cybersex with 16 year old boys just before going to a vote and inviting them to his place to drink, and then the Conservatives try to make it the Democrats fault.

What should be the final nail in the coffin for the Republicans this term if the Democrats and "liberal" media had any balls.

And how is this any different (other than the creepiness factor) from Congressmen recruiting hot girls (and hot guys, I suppose) to work on the Hill during the summer? They don't call them Staff Ass for nothing.

Oh, and I love the title of this article. Props to FTR on that one.
