Trent Lott Breaks Down The Sand People

Republican Senators and President Bush had a closed door meeting yesterday and thankfully the Iraq war barely came up in the conversation. The American people don’t care about such nonsense. We want our leaders to tackle the issues that matter.

When asked whether or not the Iraq war was discussed, Republican Senator Trent Lott let the press know that they have an infatuation problem.

"You're the only ones who obsess on that. We don't and the real people out in the real world don't for the most part."

Bingo. Somebody finally said it. The fucking press is has an unhealthy obsession with this Iraq place. We, as Americans do not care. Some Americans have had relatives and loved ones killed and they are kind of “into it,” but for the rest of us, boooorrrrrriiiing.

Lott continued to lay it out for the moronic press.

"It's hard for Americans, all of us, including me, to understand what's wrong with these people. Why do they kill people of other religions because of religion? Why do they hate the Israelis and despise their right to exist? Why do they hate each other? Why do Sunnis kill Shiites? How do they tell the difference? They all look the same to me."

That is also a very good point. How do they tell the difference? They all wear the same clothing; have that dark skin thing happening. Honestly, I’m surprised they can tell the men from the women.

I don't even know what to say.

It's people like this douche-bag, that has the world hating Americans. People like him.

The more things change the more they stay the same.

'Democrats and some conservatives have questioned Lott's comments at last week's 100th birthday party for retiring Sen. Strom Thurmond, when he said the country "wouldn't have had all these problems" had Thurmond succeeded in his 1948 run for the presidency -- which included a segregationist platform.'

I'm sure we'll be hearing this later in the day from the good Senator's office.

'Look, you put your foot in your mouth, you're getting carried away at a ceremony honoring a guy like this, you go too far," Lott said in an interview aired Wednesday night on CNN's "Larry King Live." "Those words were insensitive, and I shouldn't have said them," Lott said during the telephone interview. "I regret it and I apologize for it."

I'm sure he'll apologize again, and again, and again

What a scrub.

I'd like to think he meant "they kill over differences of ideology, but since ideology is not a visible trait, how can they tell the difference between Sunni and Shi'ia before killing someone?"

But in my heart I know he meant "damn A-rabs all look alike." Yay, Mr. Lott.

Yes. Give Trent Lott the benefit of the doubt, that's the American fucking way!

That was sarcasm.

As for the Strom Thurman thing? I thought it was very nice of Trent Lott to wish Thurman would have won, since the old man ran as a DEMOCRAT!!!

Yeah! That is non-partisan action, motherfucker!

Yeah!

I laughed too because I know he doesn't realize what he said was so inappropriate. He'll go back to his office and one of his handlers will explain the gaff to him and he'll have a Homer Simpson moment... D'OH

That is in fact a lie. Strom did NOT run as a Democrat. He ran as the candidate of the DIXIECRAT Party because he was opposed to the Civil Rights Act which was pushed through by the liberal wing of the Democratic Party. Strom went from being a conservative democrat to being a dixiecrat to being a conservative republican following the republicans' Southern Strategy of appealing to southerners that were unhappy with civil rights. Get it right next time.
