Ali Kerimli, who heads up the Popular Front of Azerbaijan, is trying to prove he's not a homosexual.
His opponents have launched a smear campaign against him claiming that he's gay — homosexuality is unacceptable and highly discriminated against in the very Islamic country.
In response, Kerimli has asked his countrymen to lend him their wives.
"If anyone has doubts about my manliness, let them send me their wives and they will become convinced of my prowess for themselves."
The smear campaign has included a staged assembly of gay pride activists meeting him at an airport, as well as allegations that he was raped in prison while awaiting trial.
