Please Buy Kanye's New Album

I begin this by saying that I severely dislike Kanye West. I find his music boring and his politics, "George Bush doesn't care about black people," probably correct but poorly delivered. He has a sickening God complex, his Kanye-as-Jesus Rolling Stone cover being the most obvious and ridiculous example. Sorry if you disagree but I have a hard time seeing the parallels between giving one's life selflessly and writing songs about what a drag it is to have to pay child support to all your bitches. Maybe it's just me.

Anyhow, I do want everyone to go out and buy Kanye’s new album when it drops September 11th. What madness is this? Well, it all has to do with this quote from Kanye hater, and sometimes Kanye collaborator, Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson.

"Let's raise the stakes," the 31-year-old rapper told hip-hop Web site SOHH.com in an interview posted Friday. "If Kanye West sells more records than 50 Cent on September 11, I'll no longer write music. I'll write music and work with my other artists, but I won't put out anymore solo albums."

You heard it right folks, support for Kanye is the path to the end of 50. Both "artists" albums drop the same day and if Kanye outsells 50, half-dollar’s career will be over. While it is difficult to tell from the quote just how much song writing Mr. Jackson would be doing, I think any decrease in his production would be a positive step.

The obvious moral dilemma created by this news is whether getting rid of one musical scourge is worth supporting another. I certainly don’t want to give West any more support, but the opportunity to put a stop to 50 seems like too good an opportunity to pass up. If I don’t help Kanye and 50 outsells him then they will both still be around. I think the solution is for everyone to go out and buy Kanye’s album, end 50, then have a good old-fashioned CD burning.

THE END?

GreyOut knows you are all probably going to drink the Haterade and rip him apart in the comments but he doesn’t care.

My name is not Kanye West, and I support this article.
At least Kanye is melodic, non gangster and more-or-less positive.
Ego aside he's also a better role model.
I'll buy it just for the Daft Punk.

Yeah, so that won't actually work.

I hate them both so much. Acutally... I really just hate mainstream rap music. It so horrible.

I just can't seem to justify spending the money on a shitty cd. I find it's easier just to not watch MTV or listen to rap channels on the radio.

Yeah, sorry. If I buy Graduation, it'll be beacuse "Stronger" is an amazing track and Mr. West has already proven to be quite an artist.

And in case you haven't listened to one hip hop song in the last 30 years EVERY rapper has a God complex. It's what rap's all about.

Pro tip: You don't have to listen to music you don't enjoy. Many people do not enjoy some of your favorite bands, they wished your favorite underground nu-metal-indie-folk-accordion-trio would stop making music, but they don't care enough to write about it.

Yes 50 Cent is trash in MY opinion as well, Kanye is a moron, but he produces SOME interesting music. I am personally planning on stealing the portion of Kanye's CD I haven't already stolen, and completely ignoring 50 Cent's CD.

Maybe you should expand your horizons a bit. Their is a plethora of amazing hip-hop artists that exist that absolutely do not have a god complex. I assure you it is not what "rap is all about."

One must ask oneself, is Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson hardcore because he was shot seven times, or was he shot seven times because he is hardcore.

Kanye West is the best goddamned rapper on the charts right now. Hell, I'd buy the record just for the sake of buying the record. This is just icing. blush

I LOVE Kanye West's new single.
His ego irritates the hell out of me, but I dig his music. Lots.

50 Cent...not so much.
