Pelican Plans To Land In Many Cities This Summer

MONDAY JULY 2 2007 4:00 PM

Submitted by B_Werner. Edited By erin_broadley.

Though the band's latest full length City Of Echoes has been receiving mixed reviews, a live Pelican show usually manages to occupy every last centimeter of your headspace and leave your ears ringing. Even if your feelings about the new record are lukewarm, don't let that keep you from the live experience of Pelican's amplified sound.

Both European and North American fans can take comfort in the fact that Pelican has announced a string of dates on both continents. Lucky Germans in the city of Stuttgart will even get to enjoy the band sharing the stage with Japan's Boris for a one-off show that promises to be extremely loud. Other cities will get to enjoy the birdmen alongside larger than life bands like Earth, Clouds and even the Fatal Flying Guillotines. Don't forget to bring earplugs.

I was at one of these shows and I thought Pelican blew TAAS out of the water, which honestly surprised me. Anyone who catches them with Boris should feel pretty lucky too.
