Tool to Make Film?

If you ever wanted to see Tool on the big screen, you may get your chance soon, Despite heavy touring and frontman Maynard James Keenan's wine obligations, it looks like the band's next move may be experimenting with film.

Guitar player Adam Jones, who conceived many of Tool's music videos, told Billboard that the Tool camp has discussed some cinematic ideas.

"It has to be a collective thing as far as the band members. Everyone has to be very happy and it has to be done in a way where people would see integrity and hard work and not just something thrown together or home movies or some shitty filmed live show.

It's a selfish thing. There's that selfish quality of what we want versus what everyone else wants. But I think at the end of the day if we get what we want, it's reflective in what other people see in that.

If I had my way, it would be a narrative story in a surreal fashion with as much money and special effects we could throw at it. I think some of the other guys would like to do pockets of all of that or something that's live or we're playing. It's just talk right now."

Anyone with a hefty bank account is encouraged to get in touch with Jones and his cohorts, as they're looking for a financial backer to step up and support the project. Meanwhile, Tool's current North American tour ends next month with the band heading back to Europe in August and September.

Well you know whatever it ends up being it'll sure be interesting. Perhaps not necessarily 'good', but certainly interesting.

60mins of build up followed by 60mins of Nothing! An "epic" tale of overblown pretentious angst with layer upon layer of absurd visuals accompanied by a lavish 120min long song by Tool themselves, mirroring the band's signiture style of excessive build up followed by overstrung letdown! Not even written yet Tool fanboys all over the world are calling for the end of films after it's release one because "no film can ever touch TOOL!". Yes hipsters it's all here; the movie, and unwarranted ego trip you've been waiting for all your otherwise pointless lives has finally arrived... TOOL: The Movie, by Tool for Tools.
