It seems that the public will get their fill of music-related biopics over the next year or so. According to a story in The New York Times, Outkast's Andre 3000 will portray Sammy Davis Jr. in a forthcoming film about the Rat Packer called Sammy And Kim.
Though he is mostly known for his musical ability, Andre is not a stranger to the silver screen, having appeared in a number of films already. Mr. 3000 will be directed as Mr. Davis by music video director Earle Sebastian. Roc-A-Fella Records honcho Damon Dash is also involved in the production of the film, which will focus on Davis' longtime relationship with actress Kim Novak.
The Times goes on to note that three other Davis-related films are also in the works, one of which may involve Denzel Washington.
