Ever wonder what Keith Richards' pattern of speech would look like on paper? One day we may actually find out. The New York Post is reporting that the battered Rolling Stones guitarist is cruising publishing houses and looking for a $5M advance for an autobiography.
Richards' agent Ed Victor is already getting the hype machine rolling, touting a potential Keef book as "the greatest rock and roll book of all time." No one is biting at the offer just yet, but Victor also represented Eric Clapton, who has his own bio coming out later this year. Clapton actually received the proposed $5M advance and a "top publishing executive" that spoke to the Post claims that Richards specifically wants to make more than Clapton.
Victor confirmed that writer James Fox will work on the book with Keith and presumably make cohesive sentences out of Richards' rambling. Hopefully, Keith will fare better than his band mate Mick Jagger, who received a $1.6M advance for a bio during the 80's, but failed to complete the book claiming he couldn't remember enough to write it.
