Foo Fighters in the Studio

It looks like Dave Grohl and his Foo Fighters will have another sonic offering for us soon. Two years ago, we were handed In Your Honour and since then the band's been road warriors both plugged in and acoustically.

In a recent interview with XFM Radio, Dave spoke about what the Fighters have in store for us.

We've been in the studio for the past month and a half, and we've got about another month to go. We've been recording with our friend Gil Norton. He worked on our second record, he's a good guy and he makes amazing albums.

So we're making a really big powerful record, which I'm very excited about and I cannot wait to finish. I'm not saying I'm not having fun., I'm saying I can't wait to jump on stage and do this stuff, it's gonna be great.

We love when you're stoked, Mr. Grohl. In the meantime, the Foo FIghters are among the acts chosen for Al Gore's Live Earth Festival, so we will hopefully hear some of the new Foo material as early as July 7.

Great news. So many bands these days are trying to be rip offs of something else. The Foos just put out good, straight up rock. Rock on, Foos, rock on. smile

If they're working with the same guy who recorded The Colour and the Shape, then this should be a pretty solid album.

Definitely, The Colour and the Shape was their defining album. Veerry gut. I kind of lost them after that. Some of it I like okay.

The Colour and the Shape was by far the Foo Fighters at their best. I don't think we'll see something like that again, but I have been satisfied with their newer releases. I could do without the lame copy-protection on In Your Honor, though.

Can't rip it to my computer for MP3s = I probably won't listen to it very much.

Me too - Colour and the Shape was their last album that was great all the way through. The albums after that have been kind of patchy. Still, having said that, it's Dave, and I'll always have a listen. Dave is great.

Yes, the Foo Fighters are amazing. Learn to Fly was the song that introduced me to them; since then I've bought Colour and the Shape and everything after that. Can't wait to hear the new stuff.
