Calvin Johnson Readies Album And Hits The Road

K Records guru Calvin Johnson hardly needs an introduction. Aside from running the noted indie label, Calvin was the driving force behind Beat Happening, The Halo Benders and Dub Narcotic Sound System; three bands that continue to amass fans long after their demise.

This Tuesday, Johnson will release an album called Calvin Johnson And The Sons Of The Soil. The record collects new versions of Beat Happening and Halo Benders tracks and is a mix of studio recordings, live recordings and Johnson between-song banter.

Tracklisting:

01 Lies Goodbye
02 Booty Run
03 Cattle Call Pt. 1
04 Tummy Hop
05 Love
06 Travels Faster
07 Banana Meltdown
08 Can We Kiss
09 Move Around
10 Cattle Call Pt. 2
11 What Was Me

If you're more interested in hearing Johnson banter in person, Calvin will be out on the road through June with Julie Doiron.

I really like his version of Daniel Johnston's "Sorry Entertainer". And his work with Beck and JSBX.
