Last week, White Stripes fans found themselves scrambling to phones and computers to tell their friends that Jack and Meg had announced their tour routing for the spring. In case you missed it, Billboard posted the dates last Wednesday and they quickly ended up all over the internet.
Don't get too excited ... yet. Today, the band's management issued a statement, claiming the posted dates were not actually confirmed.
The White Stripes have yet to confirm their north American routing as of yet. But we are happy to say that it will include all 10 provinces and 3 territories of Canada, as well as the remaining 16 states of the
United States the band have yet to play. A few major markets that have been journeyed to in the past, will be also be included.
So there you have it; north American tour, yes. Confirmed dates, not yet. The band's next album, Icky Thump, will hit stores in June.
