Killers Tapped for Next Bond Theme

Apparently, those involved in the decision making for subsequent Bond films have decided that the next title song should suck too. Chris Cornell's "You Know My Name" was not very good. Don't argue with me, you know it's true.

To my surprise, I liked the new Bond. I was worried that with the promise of action superceding charm in the new Bond, I wasn't going to like the new brand Sony was trying to sell. But I was hooked with that opening foot chase scene. Sebastien Foucan, the master "free runner," was a total badass.

Still, the song was a total snooze, and it is likely the next one will be worse, if the rumors are true that the Killers are the early frontrunners to be tapped for the theme to Risico, Daniel Craig's second outing as Bond.

"The Killers have reached the perfect point in their career to do a Bond track. They have the right sound, right look and a huge fanbase, making them the perfect choice," a 'source' told London paper The Sun.

Who wants to bet that the 'source' was Brandon Flowers?

I thought Cornell's work was all right. And the Killers could do a great job too. Though no one can beat Duran Duran's outing in AVTAK.

Other musicians that should be tapped for a JB song:

Gwen Stefani/No Doubt
Joss Stone
U2
Christina Aguilera
Bryan Ferry/Roxy Music
David Bowie
Interpol
Ladytron
Morrissey
PJ Harvey
The Strokes

The only big mistake I thought they made with he new Bond movie was the poor choice in opening songs. It was bland and uninspired. I hope they don't choose a bunch of assholes like the Killers to do the next song. Theres been so many classic Bond openers, don't give it to the killers.

Goldfrapp, or John Barry should take up the reigns again.

Gwen in her current incarnation? Has she given any hints that she wants to get back with ND? I'd have to say no. David Bowie, more plausiblesmile

I didn't care for Chris Cornell's "You Know My Name" either. How about another Shirley Bassey theme? To refresh your memory, she sang the themes for "Goldfinger" and "Diamonds Are Forever".

I quite liked Chris Cornells "you know my Name" Theme. It had all the classic Bond elements to a bond film and worked well with the title sequence. I am not fan of the Killer and hope they get some one else to do it.

I liked chirs cornell's song. and to add to the arguement almost anything would be better than the last one that madonna did that steaming pile of trash was horrible. I would think about not going to see the next Bond if that trash overrated suckfest called the killers does the song. how bout Imogen Heap, Ben Folds (dont know if it would work but dangit if he isnt my favorite artist) or rock it up and go sevendust. i am kinda feeling maybe alien ant farm as well. well i have rambled incoherently long enough

No, it's just that people who fancy that they know a thing or two about what is cool and what is not cool when it comes to music, like to act as if the Killers are a bunch of pederasts. This is based on the fact that the Killers have sold several million more albums than the band they were in in high school.

I was just listening to the Propellerheads' Bond theme on a trip back home last night and I liked it so much I played it again. It's really a rather catchy tune.
