Jay-Z Goes on 7 City Tour in 17 Hours

I'm all for breaking records and all that. I can sit down by the fire to a good Guinness Book of World Records read just like the next guy. But this one is a little too much, a little too blatantly press hungry.

Cingular Music is sponsoring The Jay-Z Hangar Tour. What is that? It's 7 shows, in 7 cities, in 17 hours. Cool? I dunno, what's the point? What's the rush? Is the idea really that cool? Maybe. I know Jay-Z is suppose to be murder live, but isn't he gonna be tired by the end there? At least a little?

The event will be occurring on November 18th. Jay will fly in via a private G5 jet to perform in Atlanta, Philadelphia, Washington D. C., New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, and finally to Las Vegas. The audience will be stocked with radio contest winners.

Two very lucky winners, in addition to winning their first admittance, will get an invite to travel with Jay-Z on the plane to witness all the remaining shows until the finale in Las Vegas. These lucky two will also receive a complete ROC outfit from the Roc-a-Wear fall line to be worn at the remaining shows, because they likely won't be dressed properly to travel with Hova.

Cingular is hopping that the losers will buy a Cingular phone and watch the shows on the tiny screens.

Jay Z, in case you didn't know, in case you've kinda been checked out for a while, is back from retirement with his new album Kingdom Come due out November 21st.

Maybe I'd be more impressed if he was using commercial airliners. That would be really amazing.

i saw him about a week ago in Melbourne, Australia, & it was fucking AWESOME. though i have to admit, at the end ov 7 shows he is going to be pretty exhausted, & that will likely be betrayed in his voice.
