Courtney Is Back

Courtney Love is ready for more of your attention. Fresh out of re-hab, jail. purgatory and who knows what else, Love is just about done with her first album since 2004's America's Sweetheart. Love has since signed to ex-Four Non-Blonde's singer Linda Perry's label Custard Records. The as of yet untitled album, also produced by Perry, will appear in stores in 2007.

Love and Perry worked together on America's Sweetheart, however Perry eventually walked out on the project due to Love's drug addiction. In a move that would make the Lifetime network proud, Perry bought Love a guitar and brought it to her while she was in rehab. Love spoke to Billboard about how writing an album in rehab isn't an easy chore.

My hand-eye coordination was so bad, I didn't even know chords anymore," Love says. "It was like my fingers were frozen. And I wasn't allowed to make noise [in rehab]. So I'd sit there and try to quietly write and struggle. I never thought I would work again. No one is ever going to talk to me. I'm never going to get a record deal. I'm never going to get on stage again. So, I just kept writing. This is a very personal album."

Evidently Perry (who penned Christina Aguilera's "Beautiful") shared in some of the writing along with Billy Corgan who took time out of his Billycentric schedule to lend a hand as well. To tied you over until the release date, you can enjoy a hardback book collecting Courtney's diaries and letters which hits stores in December.

And is Courtney's recent legal and drug issues the reason why we have such stylish and tasteful knick knacks as Kurt Cobain action figures available at Spenser's Gift's stores nationwide?
