Tim Buckley Tribute on the Way

Rhino Records is releasing a best of compilation in tribute to the late singer/songwriter Tim Buckley. Tim died in 1975 at the age of 28 of heroin overdose, when son Jeff, who would follow in the family business of music and tragic early death, was only 12.

The tribute to Tim, titled The Best of Tim Buckly, will span the breadth of Tim's work and evolving styles from late 60s folk to psychedelia, and from jazz to avant garde towards the end of his life. All 18 tracks on the disc have been digitally remastered and will be available October 3rd.

Tim was awesome. They really need to re-issue the Starsailor record. It was so ahead of it's time and damn near impossible to find now. I have it on record from my Dad.

That's good news.

Isn't a "tribute" when other artists get together to cover the material of the artist being recognized?

I would call this a collection or a remastered collection.
