"We Built This City" Tops Worst Song List

The May issue of Blender Magazine, set to hit news stands April 27th, will contain their list of the worst 10 songs in history. Starship's "We Built This City" comes in at number one, followed by "Achy Breaky Heart", Wang Chung's "Everybody Have Fun Tonight", "Ice, Ice Baby", and Limp Bizkit's "Rollin".

The list is part of a greater 50 song list to debut on the Blender/VH1 special, "The 50 Most Awesomely Bad Songs Ever," airing May 15. Songs selected had to be a hit and also couldn't be cheesy by design. (i.e. the "Macarena") They also had to cut out "rotten, excruciatingly bad low-hanging fruit from the '70s," as Craig Marks, editor of Blender, described.

Rollin is not that bad. I like it! I laugh in the face of both taste and dignity.

The worst song ever is "Love Hurts" by Nazareth.

lock this thread.

Though by no means great, Rollin' doesn't deserve to be in the Top 5. It's not even the worst Limp Bizkit song. I could think of far worse songs, like say, every single fucking lame ass song they play in techno and hip hop clubs.

My list would probably be peppered full of sappy ass 80s power ballads.

Seriously, worst song ever is "A-M-Y Spells Amy" by the Plus Ones. But that would never end up on this list.

Anyone else over 30 have the unfortunate knowlege of remembering a tune from the mid-70's called "Run Joey Run"?
Don't know the artist, don't wanna know... but I think that one might even be worse than "We Built This City".

I really think My Way or My Generation (pretty much the same song) are both worse than Rollin'. Rollin's kinda katchy, in that goofy Fred Durst way.

Steve Miller - Abracadabra
Starland Vocal Band - Afternoon Delight
REO Speedwagon - I Can't Fight This Feeling Anymore
Barry Manilow - I Write The Songs
Michael Jackson & Paul McCartney - The Girl Is Mine

That's excluding Michael Bolton's and Celine Dion's entire catalog.....

...of course I used to hate Styx's Mr.Roboto, but now after 20 years it's growing on me....like fungus
