There's a lot of things out there to talk about. Bob Dylan can follow a tirade of popular music today, and in the same breath ask the Raconteurs to support him on tour, like it's not some shrouded gesture designed to both spite and invite the youth to join in his fading legend. I love you Bob, but don't play games with us.
But I don't care about that right now. Because, right now I'm in love. I'm in love with Lily Allen, and I don't care who knows about it. Unless that someone is Chan Marshall, in which case mum's the word. Seriously, I have tickets to her upcoming show.
Lily Allen has posted a new video for "LDN," the second single off her debut Alright, Still. And while us Statesmen have to wait until the new year brings us her CD release, thanks to You Tube we can sample her ascent digitally. It is the second attempt at an "LDN" video. I like this one better.
I don't get Lily Allen. The only thing that is original or interesting about her is that she uses glottal stops when she sings. Other than that, it's just the same stuff my radio bombards me with all summer long.

No James, it really isn't. I had the misfortune of listening to 5 hours of Radio One today and the blandness overwhelmed me. Weak indie rock, strange emo/mor waffling, ubiquitous commercial hip hop and Ibiza anthems. Her music may not be breaking any ground but it's humorous, catchy and obviously not written by a team of ex pop stars and producers. For that and the way she wear dodgy trainers with prom style dressers she is far from the norm in pop world.

I listen to radio two, so that's probably why I've got that impression. It's all Lily Allen, and Corrinne Bailey Rae, and stuff like that. I like music that challenges me, I guess, and I don't get that from her.
Do they really still play Ibiza stuff on Radio 1? How very late 90's of them.
