Rufus Wainwright has suggested that a new album from him should maybe be coming possibly in 2007. But nothing is set in stone. People have apparently speculated about release dates, but, seriously, there isn't an official one yet. But it's probably 2007.

Besides not knowing the release date, we don't know the title of the LP, nor the first single. So basically, the announcement on Rufus Wainwright's homepage serves to remind fans that he is not retired. Good news!

It does hint that material has been written though, with recordings already taking place in hometown NYC, in London, and also Berlin.

The next album will be the follow-up to Rufus' Want One/Two split double album.
