Rhino Charges Through With A Box Of Goth

Those of you who are part of that segment of the population that enjoys hanging upside down, smoking cloves, brooding around in cemeteries and paying outrageous prices for custom made Victorian garb, you might want to crack a smile.

Rhino Records, who are on a tear in terms of awesome reissue packages, have announced a September 14th release date for their Gothic box. The title? The suitably dramatic A Life Less Lived. Though we are all enamored with the countless Cleopatra Records compilations from days of yore, how much Gitane Demone can you take anymore? Tha't's what I thought.

Not to mention, we are talking about Rhino here, so expect a nice looking and comprehensive package. The A Life Less Lived box includes 3 CD's and a DVD of videos. No word on what the packaging is like, but if it's even close to their Girl Group Sounds box, we are all in for a treat.

No need to be a dead wallflower at the next local fetish night. After September 14 you will be doing the goth-dance like an expert. Gentlemen (and I do mean gentle), time to show all the faux-goth mall punks the real way boys should wear eyeliner.

One question: AFI? Anyway, the track lists:

I would have dropped AFI and added the more seminal Jack Off Jill...

Good looking set though!

When I read this article it made me very afraid. Then I read the track list and it made me very happy. Someone with some taste. Finally. Of course I already have about 80% of these sitting happily on my HD as mp3s (ripped legally from their original sources you RIAA bastards!) so I'm not sure it'll be worth the no-doubt excessive price tag.

Nice!!! Smart choices. I would have added "Moya" by the Southern Death Cult, but all around I might have to buy this.

If only this was on vinyl... frown
