Yesterday our very own SuicideGirl Reagan decided to lip sync her favorite Hall & Oates song on her webcam and upload it to YouTube. It quickly rose to one of the top ten most viewed videos of the day.

As you can see by this letter, according to the RIAA, Reagan is a music pirate. Had she lipsynced a Metallica song, one can only imagine the legal burden she would now be facing.

You usually think of younger bands as embracing new technologies and means of marketing, but Hall & Oates response was to Reagan was great:

Well the first thing is have Metallica perfomed said song and the second who actually owns the copyright on said song if its owned by H&O then I really do hope they try and prosecute as this would then become a defimation of character case once it was proven the oh so sexy Reagan was innocent would potentially cost those Ivory tower money hungry bastards at the RIAA a bucket load of cash plus put them back in their box if its a public case plastered all over T.V and the net. It would damn shame it might criple them now wouldnt it.

of course, i want reagan to do a greenscreen composite of her and the original video, interacting with hall and oates.
