Sufjan Saturday Nights.

As we all know, rockstars don't really do anything on the weekend. They might play a show here or there, but they don't get into much trouble or start shit, so there's really not much to report. So, there you have it, nothing happened today.

I'm convinced of this. You can't change my mind.

However, if you need something to get you through a lonely Saturday night, how about a streaming of the second half of Sufjan Stevens' new album The Avalanche?

If you tuned in last Saturday, I pulled the same crap off as news then; that time with the first quarter of Avalanche.

Asthmatic Kitty, Sufjan's record label plans to stream a new 1/4 of the album consequetively, each week, until its release date, July 11th. So find someone you care about deeply, look deeply into their eyes then listen and go to sleep.

If you wanted to get busy, you should have tried some Motown.

Lately I've been listening to a lot of David Axelrod, who DJ Shadow and many other hip-hop type guys have sampled. There's something in Sufjan's music that reminds me of Axelrod. Something beautiful.

I heard some of it on KEXP yesterday, and it was alot more bass and drums than I expected ... I enjoyed it, fuckin' cranked it as I rolled through downtown, but I agree it aint something I'd put on to make sweet love too, I'll pull out the Barry White for that ...

... what happened to the clarinets and oboes and bells and shit?!?

It is. I assumed it was released already because it's been on torrent sites for so long.
