Not really interested in water-sports myself, not even the figurative kind.

Personally, I went the "buy all three" route this console generation, just like the last, because I'm a huge fucking nerd and I love videogames and don't want to miss out on the cool shit each has to offer.

I wish I could do that. I had a 'Cube, PS2, and the roomie had an X-Box. This time I just have a Wii and so far me and my girlfriend are very happy. She's beating a lot of ass in Zelda, and it's mind-blowing to watch somebody else play a videogame for the first time in a long time.

I think the Wii has beautiful graphics, and could really give a shit if the grass under Snake's feet crumples in mathematically perfect "blade bending" algorithmic processing. It didn't matter back when the PS2 supposedly looked "better" than the Dreamcast (that took years) and for a lot of people it doesn't matter now. Successful franchises like GTA and many racing and sports games take infrequent advantage of newer technology in disc data storage for games or graphics support. They succeed for other, less tangible reasons, and those same kinds of reasons have a lot to do with the success of the Wii.

The Wii is just flipping bad ass.. hell i had mine for a month now and i'm still hooked on my Wii Sports. I'm a Sony guy too and i'm not in any rush to get my PS3, and well the price tag is still hurting me but i will have it soon.

You're just lucky getting things like a mint-condition Virtual Boy and a modded PSone haven't been high priorities of mine, as bad as I want them.

I guess I am. I certainly don't own a Virtual Boy, so you'd definitely win if you could snag one of those, even if it was an awful system.

Well, it's not like I bought them all at once. Saving whatever extra cash I could scrap up for about six months for each one worked out pretty well.

Anyway, unrelated, I'm begging Wii owners to check out No More Heroes.



The sad truth is most Wii owners don't play much beyond Wii Sports, and the best selling game on the system is Wii Play, mainly because it comes with an extra controller, so they can play Wii Sports with two players. So I'm doing my best to get the word out on this game I fucking love already. Pretty awesome action game I must say.

Wii has outsold PS3 in Japan (and the US... and everywhere else) since the day it launched.

Tuesday we had someone return a Wii. I got it back from CS at around 3:30 in the afternoon, just in time for the evening rush hour.

Am I a bitch having held it under my counter until it was time for me to close the department and telling people we didn't have one? I think I put it in the case at around 9:50 PM, the store closes at 10.

Actually, in Japan PS3 saw a surge after the price drop.

technically true, since since the Wii had a much larger number of units for its preorder, though the sales weren't nearly as hot for the first week or two after release.

Nintendo was behind, but still making a tidy sum on its niche market. not the Wii, but the company that makes it. but yes, from that point of view, you're correct.

No More Heroes is kind of miraculous.
