Rhapsody Teams Up With Sonos

Sonos is "a modular set of digital appliances that replaces a home stereo system. The appliances work together to form a zoned hi-fi in which different zones may play the same or different sounds."

Cool, right?

It just got a whole lot cooler, when the company joined forces with Rhapsody to bring a pile of music into Sonos owners' homes:

Last Thursday Sonos announced a partnership with Rhapsody, the music subscription service from RealNetworks. Now I can play two million songs on any stereo system in my house, using Sonos' portable iPod-like controller. It's an incredible experience being able to call up almost any song you can think of and start playing it. I showed it to my wife, and she immediately began playing all of David Bowie's '70s songs. She's hooked. I've been teaching my 8-year-old about punk by playing Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, Ramones, Clash, and Buzzcocks. You get a free 30-day Rhapsody trial with Sonos. After that, you pay $10 a month. It's a bargain.

We're lucky to live in an age when we have access to so much recorded material (audio and otherwise) and any tool or product that makes it easier -- of just more fun -- to get it, is on my OMG I REALLY GOTTA HAVE IT list.

Sono's is so the shit... now that I have bought my home I have been trying to convince my GF into in wall speakers linked to Sonos. I almost have her convinced the expense is worth it smile
