The price for Nintendo's Wii has been set at $170, according to David Gardner, an executive at Electronic Arts.
In an interview to be published later this week, Gardner said: "I've heard in Japan that the price is about $170, but I don't know if the price has been set in Europe yet."
Gardner said that Nintendo's marketing strategerey is to position the Wii as a second console, to be purchased after a 360 or PS3. Mr. Gardner did not say where he got the crack, or how much he smoked before he opined that consumers would spend an extra $170 after kicking out $300 or $800 for a 360 or PS3, respectively.
