Nacho Libre Coming to the DS

Tags: DS, Nacho, Libre, wrestling

Hot on the heels of the theatrical release of Nacho Libre, Majesco Entertainment announced today they will be releasing the first wrestling game for the DS.

Based on the movie Nacho Libre, and presented in a similar film style, the game features over-dramatized wrestling moves and a variety of props as all good wrestling games need (I always enjoy beating people with flights of stairs).

In Majesco's Nacho Libre game, players can play as Nacho or more than 10 other luchadors, all with their own unique abilities. The game also features a range of over-the-top wrestling attacks, four play modes, themed Touch Screen mini-games, 4 player wireless matches and numerous arenas from the movie in which players can battle to be the ultimate Luchador.

Nacho Libre, starring Jack Black opened today in theaters. Jack plays a cook working in a Mexican orphanage by day, and a Lucha Libre wrestler by night, working to raise money for the orphanage. The comedy hails from the creators of Napoleon Dynamite and the writer of School of Rock. I'll be seeing it tomorrow afternoon.

Does anyone else want to steal one of those massive Nacho Libre cardboard cutouts for their homes?

I wanna see that movie soooo bad. I can't stand Jack Black, but for some reason I'm drawn to his movies. It's a bad bad addiction.

Hmm. What looks like it's going to be a terrible movie. And the long history of movie-based games being worse than their cinematic counterparts (usually by miles)*.

*flees for his life*

*: Yes, okay, Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay, and a couple of others. But, on the other hand, ET.

Even though it stars Jack Black it was written by Mike White, so as typos go I imagine it was a pretty easy one to make...

Oh GOD no! My bedroom walls are covered with horror movie posters; I don't need something even creepier to wake up to in the middle of the night.
